okay.

so during my latest voyage to down under, i realised (or was made to realise) that aussie tram drivers do have a sense of humour.

WHAT you say..trams?

yep yep, trams (or the idea of it anyway..) apparently just turned 100 years old during my 10 day stay in melbourne. aussies living in the cities or on the outskirts do rely on trams plenty. in fact, just imagine the singapore transport system and switch buses with trams. there ya go.mate.

so back to my point. before you start comparing bus drivers here with tram drivers there (the example given earlier was just an analogy), tram drivers there arent at all grumpy and impolite. rather, they do have a sense of humour. i think.

you see, nearing major streets and all, they are supposed to call out the street name to help and newbie tourist find their way around. something like "next stop, swanston street" kinda thing.

so on my 2nd night there down under, i happened to be on a tram with a tram driver who tried to spice up the ol' borin' sleepy tram ride at 11pm.

"next stop, melbourne university. those of you who dont know where you're going, please come and see me. for those who think you know where you are going, you're already probably lost.

(laughter, then silence...)

seems to me i probably scared you'all eh"
