I am already at the halfway point of my first year in uni. The fact that the year is hurtling along at an alarming speed is only part of the concern; perhaps more importantly, I have not seemed to have done much at all this year.

Admittedly, this has been the case ever since I left school more than one and a half years ago. Back in school, things were regimented and ordered- you had specific goals, ones that you can achieve if you worked hard enough. Life made sense, and you don't have to think too much, or too hard. When you come up against a wall, you asked someone, and because you were still a kid, you get the answers without much hassle.

The problem now is that no one really cares here. There is no regiment, no one to dictate your day, or more importantly, how you should spend the rest of your life. You find yourself asking whether its all worth it, whether the glimmering treasure you worked for in your youth is only fool's gold.

And this time round, no one offers you the answers, possibly because they are all looking for it as well.
