1. There is no such thing as a moral book, or an immoral book. Books are well-written, or badly written. That's all.
2. Some people turn everything into moral issues. As someone once observed, consummate moralizers who see the world as a life-and-death struggle between forces of evil and good will live to die many times.
3. Seriousness is over-rated. It is a sign of laboriousness and incomplete mastery.
4. A man is light and at ease when he is able to do the things he wishes to do, serious when he is trying to do some of the things he wishes to do, and moral and self-righteous when he is able to do nothing at all.
5. Virtue is the last refuge of the inept.
6. If angels can fly, it is only probably because they take themselves so lightly.
